Lately it feels like I am in a funk more days than not. Whenever I am feeling off, I try to do small things to improve my mood. Little things like going for a walk, baking my favorite cookies, yoga and disconnecting from social media.
When I get into a funk, it is almost always because I feel stuck with where I am in my life or because my negative thoughts are running wild and are consuming me. Whenever this happens, I remind myself that it is important to sit with my feelings and feel everything fully.
Guided meditation is one mindfulness tool I have been practicing whenever I am in a funk. I find that I enjoy mediation right after my workouts because I am not as anxious when laying on the ground, listening to a guided meditation, after a hard workout class.
I typically listen to 10-minute guided meditations. I have noticed that I feel more grounded and centered throughout the day when I mediate. Moving my body and meditating helps me realize that the things I am feeling down about are typically things that don’t really matter.
